Neighbors:
It has come to the Board's attention that some have developed the habit of parking their vehicle on the street rather than in their driveway. While this is expressly forbidden in our covenants (with some reasonable exceptions for occasional guests), there are real reasons for this prohibition. Consider:
1. Our streets are wide but, with vehicles parked upon them access to emergency vehicles can be restricted or completely blocked. Imagine the possible consequences should a fire truck or ambulance be blocked by your vehicle denying your neighbor needing emergency assistance.
2. We have many youngsters in our midst. They play in their yards and in the streets at times. Vehicles parked on the street cause driver distraction and could easily lead to accidents.
3. It is very common to see folks walking dogs, strolling, or folks using golf carts on the streets. Again, a driver distracted by a vehicle parked on the street could result in needless injuries and damage (not to mention dealing with lawyers).
4. And, it is really just about being a good and considerate neighbor. No one wants a vehicle parked in front of their house so why would one park in front of one's neighbor?
So, your Board encourages you to park in your driveway. Your help is needed to continue to make our neighborhood safe for everyone.
